Does a Computer Science Engineering Degree Provide a Practical Edge in Image Editing Many assume that image editing is strictly the domain of those with an arts background, yet the technical foundation of a Computer Science Engineering degree offers a distinct advantage in mastering complex software. When dealing with high-resolution assets or custom scripting for…
Getting stuck on a simple file conversion I really thought turning a simple PNG logo into an AI vector file would be a quick thirty-minute task. I have this old company logo that we only had as a low-resolution bitmap, and whenever I tried to print it on a brochure, it looked like a blurry…
Why professional image editing requires a clear focus on output goals Many people spend hours fiddling with sliders in complex software without knowing what the end product actually needs to look like. Effective image editing is not about using every available feature but about removing distractions to highlight the subject. If you are editing a…
When I first heard about using generative AI to kickstart the vector tracing process, I thought I had found the holy grail of efficiency. Like many others in the industry, I was tired of spending hours on tedious manual pen tool work. I figured I could just generate a reference image, throw it into an…
Managing photo batches with Lightroom presets When dealing with a large batch of photos from a day trip or an event, manually adjusting every single file becomes tedious very quickly. Using Lightroom presets is a common way to shave off time, acting as a starting point rather than a final solution. Most presets shift basic…
I remember sitting in a stuffy room three years ago, staring at a screen while studying for the computer literacy test. Like many people in their 30s who felt like their career was hitting a plateau, I thought a few extra certificates would be the golden ticket to better opportunities. I spent about $200 on…
Spending my weekend trying to play professional editor I was looking at some photos I took during a trip to Jeju Island last month. There were a few shots where I really liked the lighting and how I looked, but there was this random tourist standing just a few inches behind me in almost every…
Why Everyone Thinks They Can Photoshop a Suit I remember two years ago when I needed a professional headshot for a sudden recruitment process. Like many people, I thought it would be smarter to save the $50-$100 studio fee and just edit a nice blazer onto a casual photo of myself. After actually going through…
